Kids party venues: what and where to consider before booking
As a parent, I know too that you want to make your child’s birthday party special and fun!
What we definitely need to consider when planning for our child’s birthday party is the venue. There are numerous factors that can help you make a decision of where to celebrate your child’s birthday party.
Location
How far is the venue from where you live? Is it close by? Is it a stand-alone venue, or is it in a shopping mall (like Westfield)?
Most parents will drive their kids to parties, instead of taking public transport (if they have a car). So having lots of nearby parking is important. This especially applies if they will be bringing a pram or stroller.
2. Privacy
A lot of events and parties can be shared with the rest of the function space or restaurant. However, some function spaces (especially kids party venues) can have the option of your party to take up the whole venue or a private party room so that it feels more special for your child.
3. Accessible bathrooms
As a parent, I know how important and lucky it is to have a parent room (with changing tables) and child-size toilets. This makes our lives easier, especially when our children do not have time to search for the toilet before they have accidents!
4. Activities
Some spaces already have activities to keep the kids entertained. Otherwise, mobile activities (including soft play and jumping castles) can easily be arranged for kids to have fun! Also, make sure the activities are age-appropriate.
5. Kids party packages
Lots of venues (especially for kids parties) provide different packages, including the number of hours of kids play, and room hire.
