6 wedding venues in Sydney I am loving right now

One of the major decisions to make at the start of wedding planning is to choose a venue. Booking a venue is one of the first things you need to do when planning your wedding, as they can be booked out at least 12 months in advance.

To help you decide which venues are in your shortlist, before arranging a venue inspection, here are 6 wedding venues in Sydney I am loving right now!

Ottimo House

This is located on the outskirts of Sydney, where it is away from bustling Sydney, but secluded in an area with countryside feel. It is about a 40-minute drive from Sydney CBD, but only 10-minutes from Campbelltown.

It has 5 spaces - Mahogany, Marquee, Rosewood, Amphitheatre and Pavilion.

The largest space (Mahogany), holds up to 520 seated guests; and smallest space (Pavilion), holds up to 60 seated guests.

What I love about Ottimo House is that it gives a rustic vibe, yet still convenient within Sydney. It also has complimentary parking for up to 250 vehicles.

Botanic House

This venue is within Sydney CBD, but nestled within Royal Botanic Gardens. This makes Botanic House convenient to guests who stay in a hotel in or near Circular Quay, but also accessible to public transport (buses and trains).

Botanic House can seat up to 150 seated guests, or 250 cocktail guests.

What I love about Botanic House is that you have exclusive access and hire to the whole venue, so that your wedding is not only uninterrupted, but not next door to another wedding or event going on at the same time.

The Highline Venue

Highline Venue gives 1920s art decor, Gatsby vibe which is situated in Inner West Sydney.

It has 3 spaces on Level 3 - Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire ballrooms.

Sapphire room holds up to 600 seated guests; Emerald room up to 350 seated guests; and Ruby room up to 210 seated guests. All these 3 spaces can be combined to create a grand space.

Highline Venue has also launched a new space, which is the Sky Ballroom (located on Level 5), where it also includes an exclusive rooftop experience for the guests. This space also contains private rooms where it can be used for the bride, groom and even the bridal party to refresh themselves including having separate male and female bathrooms away from the guests.

What I love about the Highline venue is that it is flexible for cultural and traditional wedding celebrations with staff who are experienced with traditional rites and chefs who specialise in cultural menus, suited for the wedding depending on culture.

Dunbar House

This historic heritage house is located in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, overlooking the waterfronts of Sydney Harbour. This elegant space creates intimacy, while not being far from Sydney CBD.

Dunbar House can seat up to 120 seated guests.

What I love about Dunbar House is that both ceremony and reception can be achieved at this site. The ceremony can be hosted in Robertson Park under a large fig tree (with natural waterfront backdrop) across the road from Dunbar House, where guests can take their time to be escorted to the reception space inside Dunbar House afterwards. This makes the overall wedding seamless.

This is a popular choice by Sydney brides and grooms. Curzon Hall is one of the 5 branches under Navarra Venues group in Sydney, where this particular venue is located in Northwest Sydney.

Curzon Hall houses 11 venue spaces, ranging from intimate Sir Joseph Terrace (which can seat up to 60 guests) to the grand Lady Mary’s Pavilion (up to 500 seated guests). Curzon Hall also contains beautiful garden spaces for ceremonies - Enchanted Garden, Garden Chateau and Eternal Garden.

What I love about Curzon Hall is that it creates luxury and awe in their ballrooms and castles, making weddings picture-perfect.

Jones Bay Wharf (Doltone House)

Jones Bay Wharf is the most popular wedding venue choice under Doltone House Group. Situated in Pyrmont, it provides waterfront views yet also offers 2 wedding spaces that are very unique to each other - Heritage Wharf and the Loft.

Heritage Wharf has high ceilings, with use of an outdoor balcony, overlooking the Sydney Harbour and can seat up to 1000 guests, giving a luxurious feeling.

On the other hand, The Loft provides an intimate and relaxed ambience in a 3-level setting, where it allows a lot of natural light into the space and can seat up to 160 guests.

What I love about Jones Bay Wharf is it boasts grandeur, yet has waterfront Sydney Harbour views from the balcony. This venue space also has lots of parking spots nearby.
